About the event

KAILASA Los Angeles, California USA, is a powerful kshetra installed by the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism Bhagavan Nithyananda Paramashivam to be the Paschima Arunachala, literally a replica of the cosmological signature of His very birthplace Tiruvannamali, Arunachala. It is here where many devotees have experienced during the Agni Nakshatram, the transformation in the physical environment that Paramashiva promises when we place a Dhara Patram, a cooling pot pouring cool water onto the head of the Paramashiva Linga.

Agni Nakshatram, also known as Krittika Nakshatra, is a prominent and powerful nakshatra in Hindu Cosmology. It is associated with the element of fire and is ruled by the celestial body Graha - Surya or our Sun.

Agni Nakshatram brings intense energy and heat, both physically and mentally. It is said to be a time of purification and transformation, as the fire element burns away sufferings and negativity, allowing for healing and rejuvenation to happen in one’s life. When the intense energy that manifests, especially when it combines with the peak summer heat, we will experience extreme heat in our bodies and in the environment.  The Science that Paramashiva gives in the Kamika Agamas is the placing of the Sheetha Kumbha or Dhara Pataram the cooling water pot that drips cooling waters onto the Paramashiva Lingas in temples. Pouring water from a Dhara Patram or a Sheeta Kumbha on the Paramashiva Linga installed in the temple during this time is believed to cool down the atmosphere and mitigate the effects of the heat of summer.

Throughout the period of Agni Nakshatram which is about 28 days, the Dhara Patram continuously pours water onto the head of Paramashiva. Cooling Paramashivas physical body is cooling his divya sharira itself which includes his very breathing space.

The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism says that the breathing space of a Deity can expand to kilometers around it. Hence when the deity's body cools everything in His vicinity, everything in his breathing space in his divya sharira also cools down. We experience the cool down of our inner chatter, and a deep sense of serenity and tranquility in our mind, body and consciousness.

Research done on Dhara Patrams

One such study was conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, where researchers measured the temperature and humidity levels in a temple with and without the use of Dhara Patrams.

The study found that the use of Dhara Patrams with water reduced the temperature by up to 5 degrees Celsius and the humidity by up to 15 percent.
