This celestial marriage signifies the union of Paramashiva and Paramashivashakti in the form of Meenakshi with Somasundareshwara Swami. Their reign over the kingdom of Madurai for thousands of years exemplifies their divine partnership. 

Meenakshi's completion with the incompletions of her previous births is celebrated in this marriage. Notably, Paramashiva's decision to reside in Madurai with Meenakshi after the wedding is unique, defying the traditional practice where the bride moves to the groom's abode.
