Kailasa USA Los Angeles 23nd Anniversary

The KAILASA Los Angeles anniversary marks a spiritual journey that began in 2003. The temple in Montclair was inaugurated on Diwali in 2007. Over 18 years, it has witnessed profound spiritual growth, becoming a beacon of enlightenment and a hub for all seekers.

Samvatsarotsavam Homa

This is the annual celebration of the Kumbhabhishekam (consecration) of the Sri Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva Linga. 
During this time, the divine energy of the deities is rejuvenated, and the spiritual vibrations of the temple are amplified.  
During this homa, Swamiji, Paramashiva and Paramashivashakti are each worshipped in a kalasha of water. An additional 108 kalashas of water get energized which are later carried in a procession back to the garbha mandir and then offered as snapana abhishekam to Sri Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva Linga.

The scriptural basis for this celebration is found in the Uttara Kamika Agama, a key text in Shaiva Agama tradition, which elaborates on the rituals and significance of temple festivals and consecrations.

In the Uttara Kamika Agama, Paramashiva describes the Samvatsarotsavam in the Dakshina Dararcana Vidhih (ritual procedures for temple worship). The reference is as follows:  

“karṣaṇādi pratiṣṭhāntaṁ karma samvatsarotsavam|| 36  
pavitrārohaṇaṁ māsārcanaṁ aṁkura pāvanam|  
nityārcanādikaṁ sarvaṁ tantresmin pratipāditam|| 37”  

Explanation:  
“All the activities from the ploughing of the land to the installation, the yearly festival, the pavitrotsava (purification ceremony), the monthly festival, the offering of sprouts, purification, daily worship, and such others have been well explained in this Agama.”
This scriptural reference underscores the importance of the Samvatsarotsavam as a recurring sacred event that rejuvenates the divine energy of the temple and its deities. It ensures that the spiritual vibrations of the temple remain vibrant and beneficial for the devotees and the universe.
